University of Queensland Pipe Band at Emmanuel College

The band was originally founded in 1998 as the Emmanuel College, University of Queensland Pipe Band by Andrew McCabe with the support of patron Angus Edmonds, then Principal of Emmanuel College.

Since then, the band maintained an excellent standard of playing at all times, representing both Emmanuel College and the University and was well known throughout southeast Queensland and Australia-wide.

The band performed regularly at a variety of events in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales, proudly representing the College and the University in major annual events such as Anzac Day, the Woodford Folk Festival and the Australian Celtic Festival.

Competitively, the band enjoyed successes on both a national and international scale, including competing at the World Pipe Band Championships in Grade 4A in 2013. Notable achievements include several Queensland Championship victories and 1st places at Perth & Dundonald Highland Games during the 2013 Scottish season.
